Campus Climate Log

Last semester, there was a great deal of student concern about the safety climate on campus, and about the administration's response (or perceived lack of one) to incidents of hate.

A coalition between the Dean's Office and the Student Life Committee helped bring about the Campus Climate Log, which records both incidents of hate, as well as positive events enabling dialogue and education. The Log is still very much a dynamic piece of work, and Dean Danny stressed today that the project is open to input, criticism, and suggestions. The Log is introduced on its website by:

The Campus Climate Log serves a twofold purpose: it informs the campus community about hate incidents and acts of intolerance, and it lists educational interventions and prevention efforts organized by staff members and students.
Student reaction has been mixed - some positive, some negative, and some fairly apathetic. Check it out, get informed, and form an opinion of your own.
