Keep Wendy at Summerfields

Ok, so if you've been to Summerfields, then you know that Wendy Norton, the lady who swipes your card, is by far the nicest person on campus. Now with the new dining provider, everyone has to interview for their job, and she might not be kept at Summerfields. This is ridiculous, because Summerfields wouldn't be anything without Wendy. Sources tell me that Dean Rick is the one who has final say over dining decisions for next year. So if you want to keep Wendy at Summerfields, then send Dean Rick a (respectful) letter asking him to keep Wendy as the cashier at Summerfields. You can send him an e-mail at rculliton@wesleyan.edu

Just a correction, Dean Rick and other university administrators have no say in where staff are placed within campus dining. Bon Appetit is the new dining service and has chosen to recognize the dining workers' union. As a result, they will interview all of the current staff for positions with Bon Appetit for next year. Bon Appetit will follow the existing process that the union has developed for placing workers in positions based on seniority as well as skill sets. All of the staff will have a chance to participate in this established process with Bon Appetit and the union leadership in days ahead.
