is this, per chance, the brainchild of henri ellis '10, jason krigsfelt '10, and ethan burger '10?

Anonymous said...

what gave it away?

Anonymous said...

really gross. i hate coast-centric elitism.

Anonymous said...

not impressive. the photos of the models are also
very heterosexist and gender normative.

Anonymous said...

what a bunch of haters!!!

i would wear/buy their pieces.

Anonymous said...

pomposity!

Anonymous said...

A bunch of t-shirts ≠ a clothing line.

Anonymous said...

yo 1:29...

how much would you pay

phrenology? classical busts? fancy-schmancy paintings and staircases?
...really?

and revering the Renaissance and Baroque as having an "appreciation for finer things" (as opposed to "hip hop references and street culture")? UH.

I feel bad about being critical about people's creative work and really don't want to be a damper, but please quit with the "classy and cultured" shite, even if it's "ironic." What is this style, anyway? "Hipster at cocktail hour?" "Hipster hors d'oeuvre?" I see more and more of that at this school among rich white students and it kind of makes me want to hurl.

eh...

i like the design of their pants...very new and cool!

viva los narcissistas!

WE HAVE NO TEETH
GOOD LITTLE LIPSERVICE LIBERALS

the pants aren't theirs (as in, they didn't design them) if you check the website all they're selling is a bunch of screen printed t-shirts. what does that have to do with the finer things of life?

Anonymous said...

Who ARE these people?! And there's no mention of Wesleyan at all on their website, so how'd you even know they're westudents?

Anonymous said...

HAHAHA...so... you guys made some t-shirts...awesome...

Anonymous said...

pretty generic and/or bland.

an urban t-shirt line will be blair's next side project on "gossip girl."

heteronormative. im down. this blog couldnt be more typical wesleyan... lets disparage those who love the WHITE MALE....omg!!!!

Anonymous said...

Straight white males go against everything we stand for here at Wesleyan. They are the bane of society and they need to disappear.

Man these comments are so fucking gross. THESE ARE SHIRTS... are you people really so lonely/bored on a Thursday/Friday? Go do something productive like work or help someone or fight for a cause or really ANYTHING other than hating all the fucking time. It makes me SICK to see kids who go to this school complaining about heteronormativity/projected elitism/dental insurance/making t-shirts/adaptation of phrenological art as a purely visual aesthetic/etc. knowing that they jizz all over themselves with self righteous anger over straw men on a website DEDICATED TO THEIR OWN ELITIST COMPATRIOTS.

Coast-centric elitism? Really? Do you understand anything about America at all? There are people who seriously enforce this shit way worse than some kids making shirts. Why don't you give them shit instead of wasting your time here? I sincerely hope the next four years will teach you to learn to think before you write.

Before you shit yourselves maybe take into account that Dorsia made no attempt to be placed here, this was an unprompted advertisement by Ishuku. I cannot believe I live in such close proximity to so many people who are so terribly unintelligent... or at least so inconsiderate and spiteful.

Let's talk about misplaced adolescent angst sometime.

for the record, i've been here for almost 4 years. the shirts still suck.

the blonde girls are pretty attractive / not so much the shirts

i agree with a lot of what 619 AM anonymous dude/girl says. you people need to grow the fuck up and develop some sense of decency and consideration. anonymous slander is so spineless. none of you would make any of your remarks directly to the Dorsia guys. i don't visit the ACB anymore, because when i did, the constant vicious or thoughtless remarks convinced me that many, many people completely lack any sense of ethics that can't be reduced to social anxiety. once the social community is no longer supervising, you feel the license to act as vilely and disgustingly as you want. i very rarely hear anyone insult anyone else openly and to their face. but all i see in the wesleying's anonymous responses and saw on the acb are insults. the best conclusion i can think to draw is that people are full of shit. so i can underline my point and show you what it means to stand behind what you say, this is going to be the first of the 27 responses to this post that is UNanonymous. respond and insult me all you want, at least i have some fucking integrity.

heterosexist?! gender normative? ooookay...

Anonymous said...

for fuck's sake, you people are such retards. actual retarded people. that's all.

stop being gay and retarded.

make your own fucking shirts if you don't like theirs. or better yet, kill yourselves.

Anonymous said...

did you just really use gay as an insult? you REALLY need to grow the fuck up. its because of u that our society is so fucking intolerant and shitty. are u still in high school where gay is always used as an insult? thats funny because i thought we are in college now.
or better yet kill yourselves, wow good argument, really original. as to your use of retarded that really shows your stupidity. this is an insult to actual mentally retarded people who have plenty of challenges in their life and deserve respect. i really don't know what else to say your post was very insulting and shows the intolerance and ignorance that catergorizes our society. take some time and think about what u are writing. everything you said was EXTREMELY offensive to all queer and mentally retarded people. you're probably too priviliged/dumb to understand why your dumb ass comments affect them. here's some advice: THINK.

Anonymous said...

wow retarded and gay as an insult. haha you're the dumb one! i agree with the last post.

Anonymous said...

youre all fags

Anonymous said...

good one you idiot

Anonymous said...

i luv fagz lol

Anonymous said...

i guess this clothing line is ok. nothing too impressive.

Anonymous said...

yeah, i think that "style" is on the way out anyway. apparently tight pants (along with screenprinted ts) are becoming passe. something about all the cliche notions of brooklyn "cool"? i dunno, i'm no fashion expert, but since its so widely adopted now, that "hipster" style doesn't represent the (creative?) culture it used to. but hey, people have all kinds of reasons for wanting to dress a certain way...

Anonymous said...

oh, and the headstring? c'mooon, so played out.

Anonymous said...

hahaha.

you all need to chill the fuck out.

it's t-shirts. pretty cool t-shirts. thats it. there's nothing "hetero-normative" about it. so relax and stop using words you learned at Wesleyan orientation.

I LOVE DORSIA.

HOW SOON CAN I ORDER A SHIRT?

Anonymous said...

Can someone tell Brady Fujikawa that he's the fag?

all right people. i know i'm a little late on this one but i just have several things to say:

1. Mr./Miss "dental insurance"- you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. do you know where these picture were taken? no. but i do. and i can tell you that it is NOT a crime to have good taste and a good eye for cheap flea market finds. not to mention this "parlor" was decorated by some very generous, lovely people.

2. calm down with the "coast-centric elitist" bullshit. that is a completely made up term by the "victims" of such elitism. maybe if you would just leave it alone and let NY/LA people do their thing. maybe if you stopped wasting time on hateful blogs insulting what some people consider art (if you don't, keep it to yourself, but i saw a lot of time and effort go into those graphics) you might be considered cool too! give it a try.

3. i just don't see how these photographs are gender normative. you obviously do not know the sexual orientation of any of the people in the photographs, nor do you know who styled them. if you think you can make assumptions about someone's gender/identity/sexuality just from looking at a photograph then you are ignorant and should really rethink your day-to-day perspective on people.

4. if you think these t-shirts are "gross" and contribute nothing to society, why don't you at least make an effort to do something yourself? all of this is a matter of opinion, but you can't even be in the running if you don't give it a shot. if you have no art of your own, then you really should not be wasting time insulting someone else's. if you do have art of your own, than you should also know better, and know the difference between critique and hatred.

that is all, you pathetic, pathetic people.
