Shoutbox has moved further down the sidebar...It can now be found under Procrastination Destinations.

What do you think? Is it better? Should it be more prominently placed, gone altogether, what?

(Its intended purpose is for lost & found and such, but who cares...)

It sort of reminds me of an ACB in a more public venue and without the guided "confession" aspect. Maybe if you added a lost and found element to its name, people would be more guided in their use of it. However, I would be shocked if people don't just use it to say a lot of dirty things (followed by real life giggles, of course). Do you really want that on your page, which, while allowing people to speak freely, usually encourages more productive discourse?

it refreshes far too fast and comments get lost far too quickly for it to serve a useful purpose as lost and found

still, as long as it's down below, I don't really care

It takes 10x as long for my computer to load he site with the shoutbox than without. Please get rid of it and leave lost and found notices to the ACB! THere a forum is already set up that allows lost items to be reported and that doesn't slow down the site (because those types of notices are the purpose of the site!)

Wait, what? The purpose of the ACB is to act as a lost and found? Do people even know what ACB stands for anymore? *shakes head*

I'm for keeping the box. It may be useful, it will certainly be entertaining, and I haven't noticed any difference in load times on any of the computers I use.

I think the longer it's there, the less people will abuse it.
