Annalisa Bolin '08 points out that no Wesleyan classes made the Family Security Matters' list of "America's Most Dangerous College Courses." Says Annalisa: "We didn't make the list! I'm so disappointed."
What is this list, you ask? It's about this:
Arrogant professors, protected by tenure and faint-hearted administrators, use their classrooms to spread their twisted views of America and its allies. [... S]tudents are not being taught properly and universities and colleges are robbing their students of the well-rounded educations they are paying for and deserve. On a less ideological note, Mary Lauran Hall '10 writes in to let us know that those apples of Wesleyan's eye—MGMT—were ranked no. 94 in Pitchfork's "Top 100 Songs of 2007" list. Go MGMT!
... These courses represent the worst seminars offered by a university or college in 2007-2008, and should be avoided if you appreciate honest and rational debate – and if you wish to steer clear of anti-American rhetoric. Courses that rob students of facts, and professors who stroke their egos and indoctrinate students, are dangerous.

Do we usually make this list or something?
who knows, but if you go to the main sight, their big concern is "radical professors" teaching un-american sentiments, brainwashing their children with political correctness, and generally encouraging leftist sentiment. *gasp* it only seems right that wes would be on there
I like the fact that they claim that they despise brainwashing.
this post perfectly sums up the change in our school's reputation: wesleyan has gone from being "dangerously radical" to a self-congratulatory hipster's paradise.
i love the fact that the writer's name is Jason Rantz
"Here’s a tip: stay out of this class if you want rational discussions on important political concepts that don’t have anything to do with feminist professors complaining about how the “man” tries to control “their” bodies"
Wow. "Their" bodies.
stop being so obnoxious. wesleyan isn't missing from that list because it has lost its radical reputation. there were probably just too many courses to choose from, and/or it is such a notoriously liberal college that mentioning some of our classes would not be very surprising in comparison with those on the list. or, the author just wasn't aware of wesleyan in the first place. not everyone is.
I'm TAing for course #5 on that list next quarter. Should be interesting.
dude...we had a whiteness class here.
