Definitive GRS Pick Thread
Wesleying: More central than the ACB. Go on, post your pick. (And group size, and class, and whatever.)
Speaking of which, someone posted this:I found out the hard way last year, so I'll let you in on a secret:
The last number is (about) 600.
I was # 573 and I got the second to last one room double on Wash.
If you have 480 + you will most likely end up in Butts, 156 High, Wash, or homeless if you have around 575 +
Unless by some miracle.
If you are a freshman and your number is in the mid-late 300s, you are probably a jock and/or had a triple in the butts so you got that extra smidgen of a point. Congrats, Hewitt and Nics are fresh for picking.
The 400s are vague and vary. Do not be surprised if you might have to be in the butts at 460-470.
THe point of this is that I knew a few unhappy people living in Nics/Hewitt because all their friends were in the Butts. Just keep that in mind if you really want to stay in close proximity to your friends.
And I knew a lot of unhappy people in the Butts. And some happy ones. It varies.
So. Hrm. Yeah, that's the guide. Sorry it's such a bitch, I just wish I'd known last year instead of imagining that it was out of 1000 or something.
Plan ahead!

rising junior in the low 200's, whoop whoop lo-rise here ah come
hey, I wrote that! Thanks Xue!
Thanks--this helps a ton!
is 156 high really that bad?
rising junior, 192.
3 rising juniors, 1 rising senior: 191
why would jocks get extra points?
i was early 400s last year i got the butts... but i really like the butts.
i think because they put a lot of jocks in forced triples so that they were with teammates?
Does anyone know what the cutoff point for getting a lo-rise is? Around where in the 200s?
I'd like to know if I should give up hoping...
Thank you for explaining, I am a million times less confused now.
yeah seriously- anyone know about what # lo rise runs out?

156 High Street seems like a pretty nice place to live, actually. I don't live there but I visited a friend there once who said he loved it. There's a lot of lounge space and most of the rooms there are singles, I think.
I think cut off for lo rise is about in the 220s or 230s.
i got very low 400's, do i have a chance at hewitt?

as a current res of 156 High, it is pretty nice, mostly all singles, clean, great lounges, and best of all, crawling out of bed and going straight to weswings and then getting back in bed.
almost homeless 560s
218 is fine for juniors going for hirise right?
156 high is totally fine, though hardly ideal. take it over the butts or whatever if you want a change
can i get 156 high with 560?
if not butts?
wash will be just too far. i have all the classes in science tower.
the butts are great! much less noisy than hewitt and the nics. i am so much happier here than my friends on foss hill!
323, rising junior. am i completely fucked out of hi/lo?
Some tips for rising seniors:
even if you get the lowest pick ever, you will still end up with a fauver and they seriously are not that bad.
If you have really close friends who you hand out with a lot and aren't in your housing group, I would highly suggest that both (or how ever many groups you have) of your groups go for fauver apartments. It's so so nice and convenient to have your friends just down the hall or downstairs. You will see them 10x as much as you probably would if you each lived on houses on different streets. I would say it's really worth forgoing a house in order to be close to your friends.
but on that note, if you do take a fauver TAKE A MIDDLE ONE! they're so much bigger. And, the last room is double the size b/c it's handicapped.
also, for all those rising juniors who got the shaft and will be stuck in a dorm, just think, you will be getting a sweet-ass house next year! And that is definitely worth getting stuck in a dorm for one extra year.
i had 412 last year; IIRC, the last single in the nics went at 410. kind of a downer...but yeah, 400s are about butts territory.
and i think the last person last year had 599...though of course it's based on the number of groups.
#1 mothafuckas.
which are the nice 4 person houses on fountain?
i heard from reslife that the last number in the lottery this year is 589.
rising soph, 536...dying inside.
to anon 4:53, 4:53, 4:53: not a snowball's chance.
I'm an RA in 156 High this year, and personally, I think it's the best-kept secret in wesleyan housing. There are two doubles (they're pretty nice) and the rest are singles. There are way more lounges than are necessary, and they're *really nice lounges*. You also have your own washer and dryer for the dorm. It's a great location. Some of the rooms even have balconies. And the coolest part about the dorm is the layout - on the 2nd and 3rd floors (where the vast majority of the rooms are), there is the common lounge in the middle and then dorm rooms surrounding, so it's just a great community feel.
I'd totes recommend it! I'd never been inside before I started living there, and I was shocked at how nice it was.
Also, next year, there will be a kitchen, too!
Also, so it sounds like the junior/senior cutoff is about 190ish, right?
512 soph...
Can I get a single? Anywhere? I'd be happy with 156 high or Wash or the Butts. But I REALLY want a single.
580's! anybody have a higher number??

I've heard that Butt A will have a kitchen next year.
350, rising sophomore. Yay at being in a triple.
actually butt B will have the kitchen.
which one which one?
i have a kitchen and all of you children are always welcome at my palace.
Butt B will have the kitchen installed over the summer, in its massive lounge.
