Wes Mentioned for Gender-Neutral Rooms
In the boston globe along with Oberlin College, Hampshire College, Clark University and Dartmouth College. But Tuft's (also known as the University of Students Rejected from Harvard) Dean of student affairs finds it disturbing and a preclude to sexual encounters.
"We're not ready to provide coed bedrooms," he said. "That's a position we don't see changing in the near future. Allowing coed living situations would create unnecessary distractions and problematic romantic entanglements"
Jason Mattera, a spokesman for the Young America's Foundation, also thinks it's crazy.
"It's a disturbing trend, and from a purely academic perspective, it seems bizarre. Colleges should have some sort of standards and guidelines in fostering the best possible learning environment."
Sure...

it's Dartmouth College, not University. yes i KNOW they have a grad school, but when they try to change the name the alums bitch

heteronormativity makes me barf.
let's not be so mean to Tufts. After all, if they're the Harvard reject school, then we're the Brown reject school.
Seriously, stop being mean to Tufts.
yeah come on, it's not Tufts students' fault their Dean is an ass. Wes could easily be criticized for some of our ridiculous staff members
whatever. sharing a bathroom with dudes is gross and my least favorite part of wes.
yeah boys have cooties let's put up a sign to keep them out of our treehouse.
more like boys pee all over the seat and shave over the sink without cleaning it afterwards.
Dudes, this is about gender nuteral ROOMS, not bathrooms (which I bet Tufts has at least some of). Kinds different...I man, I still totally support it, but it's a lot less common,
The silly thing is that this only applies for upperclassmen at Wes... and very very few sophomores+ live in one room doubles anyway.
don't you mean prelude?
quaalude
The comment about Tufts was really unnecessary and mean. (Plus, I'd rather go to Tufts than Harvard any day... but that's not the point).
