Wesleyan's 32nd annual Navaratri Festival, a celebration of Indian culture, has been going on all week. Check out the remaining events this weekend:

Anita Ratnam: Bharata Natyam Dance Performance

Anita Ratnam, one of India's most gifted artists, is an accomplished classical and contemporary dancer and choreographer, whose career spans four decades and over 1000 performances in 15 countries. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work in the performing arts in India and abroad as a choreographer, scholar and cultural activist.

Bharata Natyam Dance Workshop with Anita Ratnam

Sandhi: North Indian Music Performance w/ Pandit Ramesh Mishra and Samir Chatterjee

Renowned Indian classical musicians Pandit Ramesh Mishra and Samir Chatterjee present performances on two of the most celebrated instruments from North India. Having trained under the legendary maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ramesh Mishra has received recognition as an outstanding artist of India for his mastery of one of the most difficult and unique string instruments, the sarangi. Samir Chatterjee is a virtuoso tabla player performing worldwide as a soloist and with other outstanding musicians from both Indian and Western musical traditions.

Mysore M. Nagaraj and Mysore M. Manjunath: Music of South India

Time: Saturday, October 4, 8pm
Place: Crowell Concert Hall

Maestros Mysore Manjunath and Mysore Nagaraj are two of the most brilliant violinists in Indian classical music today. They come together at Wesleyan for a concert of Karnatak music and will be joined by Srimushnam Raja Rao on mrdangam and Ravi Balasubramanian on ghatam. Co-sponsored by the Raga Club.

Saraswati Puja (Hindu Ceremony)

Time: Sunday, October 5, 11am
Place: World Music Hall
Free admission

This Saraswati religious service, led by A. V. Srinivasan, celebrates the victory of good over evil and marks the most auspicious day of the year for beginning new endeavors, especially in learning and the arts. The audience may participate and bring instruments, manuscripts and other items for blessing.

Spa Day at Usdan

The UCAB is sponsoring a Spa Day at the Daniel Family Commons:

Three massage therapists! Delicious sandwiches (roasted veggies with sun-dried tomato spread, turkey with cranberry relish, roast beef with brie and onion marmalade)! Seasonal fruit and fresh vegetable trays! Tea tea tea! Soothing music!

Break stuff and eat food

Want to be a badass? Want to break a giant pile of cinderblocks? You can on Saturday!

Alex Gold '10 and physics professor Lynn Westling will be talking about and giving a demo of how to break boards and bricks behind Science Hall (Hewitt 8, right in front of MoCon) on Saturday at 5.

Those who come will get to break boards and eat free food from Typhoon (until both run out).

On Sat. Oct. 4th from 9 AM to 2 PM, Treasures & Sweets is having a sale and bake shop at 93 Main St. inside First Baptist Church. Take-out lunch or sit-down served. Homemade meals $2.00 (includes dessert and beverage).
