Live music at Earth House on Thursday night: spend the last night on campus before spring break with the peerless Chris White '06, a.k.a. Isto, along with Wesleyan friends Stephanie Nilles, and Captain Coconut, who have funked Wesleyan up before and will again.
Here is Isto singing a song about tuna:
Date: Thursday, March 5
Time: 9 pm -1 am
Place: Earth House
Adam Bernier '06 followed Chris White around with a camera for a night about a year ago, during which White gave an epic Isto performance at the Sidewalk Cafe in Manhattan.
Here's the resulting half-hour video, in which White waxes philosophical about life as a working musician, Internet fans, being on the receiving end of a hit-and-run incident, and the awkward transition from Wesleyan to the real world:
I posted an Isto video last week after his performance at Buttstock, but here's an actual live clip of the song. Be inspired:
Chris White '06, a.k.a. Isto, has been featured here before, but if you missed the earlier posts and weren't at Buttstock yesterday, here is the YouTube version of his excellent "Think of All the Things You Can Do with a Chair". Sadly the violent intensity of his live act is missing, but this is entirely adequate:
Chris White '06, aka "Isto," used to make a name for himself at Wesleyan playing intimate concerts in crowded woodframe living rooms. And we miss him. Sorely.
But now you can find him on Youtube and his personal website http://lumberjackisto.com.
Here's my personal favorite: Ann Coulter
