Seitan at WesWings is permanent!

Vegans and vegetarians: remember how awesome those seitan wings were, that night they had them at Weswings? Well, now they're permanent! For $8.95 at any lunch or dinner, you can get wings with mild, medium, or hot Buffalo or Rochester sauce, or honey glaze (not vegan). It also comes with celery and blue cheese (obviously not vegan). Check it out!

WesWings works to placate vegans

Tired of avoiding WesWings and its menu of delicious wings, juicy burgers, and sausage-laden pasta? Hope may be on the way. In a move that may both appeal to vegans and make the Vegan Death Squad a little less choleric, WesWings is planning to serve vegan seitan wings at dinner on Tuesday night:

Tomorrow, Tuesday night, WesWings will be serving vegan seitan wings. You'll have the option of having them coated in buffalo sauce (vegan) or honey ginger sauce (contains honey). It's served with a side of celery and bleu cheese (not vegan). We're testing the veg-friendly waters, so if this is a success we may be able to make this a regular happening. Tell all your veg (and non-veg!) friends, and see you tomorrow night.

You might want to avoid vegan today

The FDA came out today and told America that eating bagged spinach might result in the shits. And not for them most obvious reasons.

Apparently, a bunch of people this week were infected with E. Coli from eating bagged spinach. Both Vegan and Mocon use bagged spinach and thus I'd do my best to avoid eating it today.

As Xue pointed out earlier, even vegan greens are fertilized with poo. From the article:

"Where cattle manure goes, E. coli 0157:H7 may go."

Vegan is for lovers

One day, in a magical land called Livejournal, a girl made a post in one of the communities of which I'm a member extolling the wonders of organic veganism. Her main point wasn't ethical liability, or environmental consequences, or even health benefits of going vegan or organic. It was because "meat has poop in it".

Back the love van up. Poop? You don't want to eat meat because it has poop in it? You eat organic veggies! What do you think they use as fertilizer, rainbows and starlight?!

I tell this story because I'm a little bitter for a reason that admittedly has little to do with morons on the internet, and that reason is because Vegan Cafe gave me fucking food poisoning so miserable that I thought I had caught The Gastro. Is that going to stop me from eating at Vegan? Hell no. The food may be overpriced, the line long, the scale broken, and now it may even make me sick as a dog, but it's so damn good that I just can't help but pile more mushroom ragu in my rapidly disintegrating recycled paper container thingamajig. Unfortunately there is no sarcasm here; My decision-making abilities are that bad.
