OMG! It's the Apple iPhone!

As Wesleying's resident Apple evangelist, I just wanted to issue a reminder: start your drooling. iPhone launches at 6 PM on June 29. Get ready to stand in line for days outside your local Apple/AT&T store.

The iphone sucks. I don't want to hear about it on wesleying.

totally the best thing to spend 600 dollars on. . . .but you can only have that privilege if you're a Cingular customer

yeah man, what a waste of money

Apple's Macbook's were cool, but I don't understand the appeal of an expensive device that doesn't do much more than play music and talk on a cellphone well.

And...I thought wesleying was a non-commercial blog...??

Wait for Rev 2 in the fall. :P Lots more features.

Isn't that "aka Rev 1 sucks"

i mean, justin isn't getting paid to advertise the iphone here, and i've definitely posted about designers and t-shirts i liked.

Actually he is. Check our Brian's post above. Apple pays one student on each college campus to do random marketing (self-reported hours) in order to spread the word about Apple.

Though to be fair, even if he weren't the apple campus rep, he'd probably still have posted this. He's legitimately been obsessed with this iphone for months.

This is bad...

Oh, tsk tsk. I'm not officially representing Apple. You can be sure that I would have disclosed any conflict of interest had there been one.

if you're not working for apple, why does it say that in your facebook profile as your top ranked job?

Justin said...

Anonymous queries!

Apple Campus Representative is my "top-ranked" job because Facebook has automatically alphabetized the jobs I've listed.

I added it because I knew I'd forget to do so when my placement in the position became official. I guess, with this reminder (heh), that reason was made moot.

It still stands that as of right now, I am not employed by Apple. Any promotion I placed on Wesleying was done on my own time. I received no compensation of any kind, and was putting the information out there solely as a personal recommendation.

I think the iPhone is great, dudez.

If you'd like to discuss the matter further, please feel free to contact me at jlaselva@wes. I'd love to allay any concerns you may have over this topic.

Justin, I love you, but the iPhone sux0r2.

So you don't mind if we email you to talk about why the iphone sucks so hard?

Wow, I can't beleive anyone at wes supports such a heartless corporation as apple. I mean the eventual objective of all corporations like apple is to make the entire world exactly the same, and make the entire world use apple, and, in so creating this world they have no problem destroying and oppressing anything that doesn't fall in line with their ideas, including the indiginous cultures of the world. Basically, if you buy something from a company like apple, you are actively working to destroy every culture in the world besides the consumerist hipster american culture apple represents. Apple makes me sick.

someone should write a wespeak about people faking facebook profile information in order to brag about "cool things" they've almost done.

Seriously, why is anyone excited about the iphone? I mean, I'm not much of a computer geek, so maybe there's something I'm not getting, but to me, it looks like a phone, with mediocre battery life (compared to other phones and compared to the ipod), that can't store nearly as much music as the vast majority of MP3 players, and that costs at least twice as much as any good phone or MP3 player. Am I missing something, or did everyone else around here drink the kool aid and become total apple fanboys?

You missed something, look at these comments, most people don't like the iPhone.

Shut up jackass

Isaac said...

Let's keep it civil. The point is the iPhone is an extremely cool, totally unnecessary, fancy gadget.

the iphone is a piece of crap

Anonymous said...

wow, why are you all so down on iphones? They aren't that bad, are they?

Anonymous said...

Yes. They really really are.

it's kind of funny how people are like "I don't know why everyone likes the i phone..." when almost no one has said they liked it. talk about conforming to counter culture.
