FACEBOOK IS DOWN
Facebook has been down all night. Is it a Wesleyan problem? A network problem? A Facebook problem? Anyone have information on this?
Edit: 9am, still down.
Edit Edit: It's back! And apparently it wasn't a just a Wesleyan thing, but a Connecticut thing and even a Mississippi thing.

likely a facebook problem. tip: those profiles which DON'T have a college network as their primary network can be accessed. go ahead, give it a try. high school network works, Indonesia network works, Spain network works, Japan network works... you get my point.
they're just cracking down on college networks for some reason. but not to worry, i'll go punch Zuckerberg in his vagina.

I don't get it. My profile has worked fine all night. And I've been able to look at everyone else's.
Could this be an on-campus thing? I'm off-campus and everything is working fine.
Mine is also not working from my dorm room wireless connection.
It's an on-campus thing. I can access it fine from any connection where I cannot smb to others at school. When authenticated on the wireless network, or VPN [and thus in the main school subnet], I cannot access Facebook.

Yeah, I was at Olin and had a problem, then I went home to my senior house and everything was fine. It's definitely the college network thing.

Not working for me in the Butts. I can access it fine using Tor though, which means it's definitely not a Facebook thing.

You can access it through a proxy server just fine. What the hell, Wesleyan?
I'm just using firefox (I'm plugged in, not wireless) and I'm getting facebook fine in the butts.

I'm at UConn and googled "facebook down 2/22" to find this. It's not working on our wired dorm connections, either!
all facebooks accessed from uconn are also down, still down
MY LIFE IS CRUMBLING.
I'm meeting with the head of ITS this afternoon, and I'll ask him about this. And I'll post info if I get any.

it was working before, but now it's back down...
Anyway, the issue is apparently with the Connecticut Educational Network or something, that's why multiple CT colleges are being affected. Apparently they're working on a fix.
I go to Mississippi State University and we were experiencing the same problems last night.. edge network worked as well as all off campus networks but both wired and wireless campus networks didnt work.
people from mississippi state university read our blog? are we popular or what.
I love all the ACB hosts hating on ITS like it and everything was their fault, then it turns out being a huge provider problem.
