WSA develops student endowment for extra funds
WSA members – expecting a budget surplus of $20,000 this year – have proposed investing the extra funds, rather than reabsorbing it into next year’s budget. While this means the SBC would have less money to allocate to student groups next year, in the long run it is hoped a WSA endowment will increase the SBC budget and reduce the student activities fee.

The description of the WSA endowment is a little off here - the WSA isn't investing a budget surplus at the expense of next year's budget. These are extra funds sitting in student group accounts at the end of the year due to overrequesting ~$10,000 a year. It's true that the money would traditionally go back into the Student Activities Fund at the end of the year, normally that money would go unspent due to overallocation anyway.

Also, what the hell was with that wespeak criticizing Roth's thesis?

I also found it puzzling. It was by a 70 yr old man. The argus needs to make sure he's not suffering from dementia or something before they publish stuff from him.
