Today's Golden Edition of The New York Times

Today's campus copies of The New York Times have a special surprise: the front cover featuring photos of the presidential candidates have been covered with glistening gold and black spray painted squares. Any clues on the reasoning behind the cover-up? Is it a protest? Art project? Does it have anything to do with tonight's presidential debate? Leave it in the comments...

Obviously a misprint. Chill guys. No one has five hours to go through and do this to every paper. MISPRINT.

Obvi not a misprint-- did you see the copies?

if it was a misprint, oh well. if someone actually painted over every copy, goddamn it. i like the pictures!

No it smelled like spraypaint. The gold ones looked really nice, and there certainly could have been artistic motive / political statement behind it. That would be nice. If it's just done for shits and giggles, well, it's pretty, but otherwise pointless.
