Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point focuses on the journey of a brother and sister named Duck and Daisy who escape from a dying repressive society into a vast desert. In the desert they try to find where the rest of their village, which abandoned them years ago, has gone. Duck and Daisy are motivated by a hope of finding a new home, where they can be free to be themselves: where Duck can embrace his shaman-like destiny and Daisy her sexuality . In the process, they run into characters from their past and try to reconcile their own fantasies with the reality
of their eroding world.
The duration of the play is about an hour and twenty minutes. It will include Jo Firestone, Robby Hardesty, Shamiso Mtangi, Angus McCullough and Lily Wahrman as actors, and is directed by Danica Pantic and Tadd Gero.

Folk Music At Alpha Delt

Like old-timey folk jams? Come hear two fantastic performers, Helen Russell and David Lutken, play on the porch of ADP and talk about the presence of folk music in society today.

Helen and David both hail from the 4-star-awarded Edinburgh Fringe Festival hit of 2007, Woody Sez, about the life and music of Woody Guthrie, which leaves the US next week on an international tour. Hear them play some Guthrie and some of their own fun stuff as well.

Sponsored by the Adelphic Educational Fund.

Date:
Sunday, May 4
Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: Alpha Delta Phi porch

Righteous Music Festival on Wash.

Ben Bernstein '10 writes in to tell us about a music festival he's got planned:

A Walk To Remember: 202 Wash Fest; 5 Bands, Lots of Art, and FREE FOOD

This Sunday at 4 PM will be the first annual Walk To Remember Festival
on the lawn between 202 and 230 Wash. No, this isn't some ploy to get
you to move to Washington street, but just a fun venue to listen to
music, make art, and eat free food!

Two Wesleyan bands (The Shade and Decora) will be joined by Birch Trees
(Yale), Red Sails (Sarah Lawrence), and Trevor Wilson (Bennington).
There will be tons of art supplies so you can draw, paint and sculpt
while you eat and listen to tunes. See you there, even if it rains
(which it won't).
On a slight editorial note: no explanation was forthcoming as to why it is called "A Walk to Remember." Titles aside, my sources at Bennington have confirmed that Trevor Wilson is awesome and awesomely talented.

WHAT: Music Festival
WHEN: Sunday, May 4th - 4 PM
WHERE: 202/230 Wash. lawn
WHY: sweet music, free food, art. surely you don't need any more reasons.
