Spring semester housing - check out program houses!

Are you abroad? Do you hate your current housemates? Do you just really love being well or being open? Consider living in a program house next semester! Open House and Well-Being House both have students going abroad, and are recruiting applicants for the spring semester.

Emily Troll '10 at Well-Being House says:

Well-Being House has spaces for new members next semester! Join a community with lots of cooking, crafts, conversation, movies and music. Email etroll@wes with questions about the house, or to ask for an application. Thanks!

Open House is a safe space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Questioning, Flexual, Asexual, Genderfuck, Polyamourous, Bondage/Disciple, Dominance/Submission, Sadism/Masochism (LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM) communities and for people of sexually or gender dissident communities. The goals of Open House include generating interest in a celebration of queer life from the social to the political to the academic. Open House works to create a Wesleyan community that appreciates the variety and vivacity of gender, sex and sexuality.

Never been to Open House? Ever thought about checking it out? Well, starting this year we will be having Open Hours: a totally informal hangout time to come chat and have some coffee with the Open House gang. Sometimes we bake.

L word at Open House

An anonymous tipster writes in about upcoming events at Open House:

Updates on happenings at Open House!

This Sunday starting at 6 pm come watch any L word episodes you've missed. This includes episodes 1,2,3,4, and 5 of Season 5. At 9 pm we will show the new episode.
Every Sundays at 9 are the new episodes as well.

Don't like the L word? Prefer other movies/shows like Queer as Folk, Noah's Arc or movies like Better than Chocolate or Fire? Come to the Queer Movie Marathon on Saturday Feb. 23. Get your fixin of a wide variety of queer shows and movies that will last until around 3 am.

The marathon is followed by Queer Pancakes and Crepes on Sunday Feb. 24. Sponsored by Open House and French Hall come for delicious pancakes and crepes, nutella, jams, scrambled eggs, and smoothies!

You don't have to participate in the marathon to attend queer pancakes/crepes, you can come to one or both of the events.

Movie Marathon: Saturday Feb. 23 starting at 8 pm
Queer Pancakes/Crepes: Sunday Feb. 24 at 11 am.

Queer movies and TV shows at Open House

Do love movies like Better than Chocolate, Billy Elliot, or series like The L Word, Queer as Folk, and Noah's Arc? Well, Open House has your fix!

We now have both Showtime for The L Word and LOGO for series like Queer as Folk and a wide variety of queer films.
Starting today (Thursday), Open House will be screening all four episodes of The L Word at 10:00 PM. They will host screenings of new L Word episodes every Sunday at 9:00 PM. And starting next week, premieres of queer movies and TV series on the LOGO network will be shown. More details will follow.
