First Tuesday: John Basinger

Every first Tuesday of the month, Broad Street Books hosts a featured poet and an open mic. Come to March's First Tuesday this Tuesday, March 3rd.

The featured poet this month will be John Basinger. According to Broad Street's Brian Mitchard, "Best known for his performances of Milton's Paradise Lost, John is going to surprise us!"

What: John Basinger as featured poet, and open mic (everyone welcome to read, recite, perform)

Wesleyan Poetic Census deadline extended

The deadline for submitting to the Wesleyan Poetic Census has been extended to Friday, Sept. 12.

The Wesleyan Poetic Census Open Mic event will happen that same night. The time for that has just been announced: 9:00 PM in the '92 Theater.

AAA Cafe

An open mic event that welcomes all students on campus to bring their talent on stage. Singing, reading, dancing, skits; anything that you haven't had a chance to perform. There will be refreshments and a lot of cheer! If you are interested, email Ben Tan '10, house manager for AAA (zbtan@wesleyan.edu) with the name of your performance.

Green Speak: open mic Friday night

GLSP student Lex Leifheit is itchin' to tell you about an open mic night at Green Street Arts Center:

The Green Street Arts Center has teamed up with New Haven Theater Company’s improv comedy news group for its monthly open mic. [...] For their debut performance, another local group called Off the Cuff is coming out to play. Comedy Showdown? Improv Extravaganza? You decide!

Open Mic signup begins at 7:30 PM and is free to performers. $5 for those who just like to watch.

Don’t be afraid to bring your super-serious poetry, ballad or dramatic monologue—we like to mix it up.

Cost: Free for performers, $5 otherwise
