WSA discusses optional summer semester tonight

Tonight, the WSA will discuss possibilities for ways Wesleyan could use its facilities to bring in revenue during the summer. One idea would be to offer the option of an abbreviated summer semester where students could take 3 classes in exchange for lowered tuition. Come to the WSA tonight to discuss this idea and others as we brainstorm possibilities for how Wesleyan can deal with its current financial woes.

What: WSA General Assembly
When: 7pm
Where: Usdan 108

A little bit of Wes in the summertime

Want to awkwardly help awkward prefrosh feel more comfortable about Wesleyan (and maybe meet some alums, school administrators, etc., too? Hey, networking is always good)?

Find a summer sendoff near you - there will be sendoffs in Boston, MA; Boulder, CO; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Houston, TX; London; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Nantucket, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Rye, NY; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, D.C. For details info about each of these sendoffs check out the Wesleyan website.

Join members of the Class of 2012, new transfer students, and their families for a casual summer social as they prepare to head to campus. This is an opportunity to meet others new to Wesleyan, as well as some current students and their families, alumni and friends of Wesleyan. If you have any questions about Summer Sendoff, please contact us at sendoffs@wesleyan.edu or by phone at 860/685-3756.

WESU is summerified

That's right, WESU is going all summer long. Some of the hosts are Wes students, some are Middletown community members, and all are awesome.

The summer schedule started this past Monday. Check it out here.

As always, you can listen to WESU either streamed online at http://www.wesufm.org/ or on any radio tuned to 88.1 FM around Wes.

I'm excited for tonight's:

Jim's Greasepit and Cocktail Lounge with (Death in) Jim - [Tire-meltin', upright-bass-slappin', beer-swillin', greasy haired, low-brow rock 'n roll at its finest. At least one Elvis song per show guaranteed. Tip Darlene or she'll spit in your coffee next time.]

Yeah Elvis.

Can't Get to Work Today?

Y'all kids in the city know what I'm talking about:
ARRGGGHHHH
When I walked into the E86 Street station this morning, my first thought was "wow, it's like Foss Hill on 4-20!" Only... Not. I saw one woman push her way into the train by yanking another woman out by the hair. WTF, New York?

Wow. Hunter. Without Words.

So Hunter King '08 officially wins the award for having ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH HIS SUMMER for collecting 100 of youtube's best videos starring monkeys doing silly things.

Yeah. Seriously. Here's a video of some alcoholic monkeys sneaking drinks from tourists I would never otherwise have seen:
