DJ Michael Ullman '12 is hosting a dance party this weekend featuring the DJ group Bastille. Bastille members are Ullman and Oberlin student Julien Benichou. Check out their facebook page to listen to the group's music samples. Ullman received SBC funding, so the first 100 students to show up will get a free mask. If you want to be fashionably late, you are encouraged to make/buy/steal your own mask.

Ska/Punk Showcase at ADP

To all the rude boys and girls who read this blog, Alpha Delta Phi's gonna have a couple bands pumping the sweet sweet sounds of Ska into the grotto this friday and you are all invited. So put on your three-peice suit and checkerboard sneakers and spend your friday night pickin it up to the horn-cranked tunes of CT natives Johnny Nine and the Racers and SUNY Purchase imports The Wendels. It'll be a skankin' good time.

Max Rodriguez '10 sends us word of a blacklight dance party at ADP:

This saturday, ADP will be hosting a furniture-is-in-the-garage dance party...with blacklights! Come and dance to great music (there will be a DJ, who is yet to be determined) and boogie til the break of dawn as your teeth GLOW. There will be non-alcoholic refreshments.

Party & Bullshit

Fresh off the release of new mixtapes with Lil Jon and Kanye, DJ Benzi is touring the US leaving a trail of stunned party-goers in his wake. Having collaborated with Sean Kingston, Cool Kids, Pitbull, Nina Sky, Donnis and Kanye, Benzi is an up-and-coming DJ recently named one of the Next 100 by Urb Magazine and has shown up in XXL Magazine, Scratch Magazine, The Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, and MTV.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan's own too-hott-to-handle DJ duo Chrome Punch continue to bust down inhibitions and eardrums as they trek to their way to hip-hop infamy. Look for Ian J & Harrison Schaaf '10 to kick it to the next level as they return to the friendly confines of Psi Upsilon.

Its gunna be another one of those memorable ones...Get hype!

UCAB [Usdan Center Activities Board] is hosting another thing this weekend! Check out the Latin Quarters Dance Party. Admission is free, and DJ Ghost, the most popular Latino DJ at Wesleyan this year, will be playing.

Barn dance this Saturday night

in the spirit of barndances past, (in which dances at the turn of the century were places of rebellion, of rowdiness, of drunken fights, of hollering and general chaos not unlike the spirit of the mosh pit), we bring you this dance.

the band? a hard driving old time band (remember the powder kegs who came in the fall?) driving up from west virginia: the fox hunt (myspace) the twist? these guys began their musical careers as heavy metal/punk musicians (myspace) who have recently turned to playing banjoes and fiddles and upright basses with similar vigor and attitude.

the dance? a mixture of old dances with space for more downright boogie-ing and hoe-downs. there is absolutely no experience necessary.

followed by a music party at outhouse. there will be more dancing, more partying, and live music and jamming at outhouse following the barndance. musicians are welcome to bring their instruments-- guitars, fiddles, banjoes, basses, etc. some more local oldtimey musicians (myspace, another punk/oldtime band) will show up and jam to increase the craziness and the music making!
